How averages are calculated:
If you are new to MYST:
-Please email your most recently sanctioned sport shot league average sheet (12 or more games) to mystbowlingtour@gmail.com, once verified, this will be your starting average for our tournament. Based on your average will determine which MYST division you will be able to compete in.
-If you do not have a previous sport shot average but have participated in a sanctioned league or their school’s bowling team (12 or more games), please email the most recent average sheet. We will convert your average to a sport shot average using the sport shot average conversion chart from USBC.
-If a bowler has not participated in a sanctioned league or on their school’s bowling team, the bowler will have the option to enter in either scratch division or enter the handicap division starting with a 149 average.
Returning MYST members:
-Please email your most recently sanctioned sport shot league average sheet (12 or more games) to mystbowlingtour@gmail.com, once verified, this will be your starting average for our tournament. Based on your average will determine which MYST division you will be able to compete in.
-If you have not participated in a league with 12 or more games since your last MYST tournament, we will use the total average from the 2019-2020 season.
2020-2021 rolling averages and divisions:
After a bowler has participated in their first MYST tournament, MYST will maintain the season averages and publish the information prior to each tournament. MYST Tournament Directors will use this information to determine the appropriate division to place a bowler (a bowler may choose to bowl up a division by emailing mystbowlingtour@gmail.com within 48 hours of a tournament.) MYST will no longer require a bowler to remain in a specific division if their average does not support this. Bowlers are expected, however, to bowl to the best of their ability at all times and not take advantage of this new structure. In the event abuse of this opportunity becomes evident, a bowler may be suspended for the current season, and MYST reserves the right to restructure as needed.
